About

I am an undergraduate student in Linguistics at Université Laval in Québec City, Canada. I am particularly passionate about phonetics, phonology, language contact (especially majority + minority), Basque, and Québécois & Acadian French.

I grew up in a small town in northern rural Alberta. Despite this, I do not consider myself to be Albertan. My family is mostly from Northeastern New Brunswick, and it turned out that I have one anglophone and one francophone parent, granting me two native languages.

Outside of my interests for Linguistics, I enjoy studying foreign languages, listening to baroque music, talking about politics, running, and singing.

I would like to do a Master’s in Linguistics at the University of the Basque Country in 2027-2028. I want to explore the effects of Spanish on Basque prosody. This is related to my desire to better understand the phonological effects of majority languages on minority languages.
